Green Fair
Hull and East Riding Friends of the Earth has been hosting a local annual Green Fair for well over 20 years. This is a fabulous event where local green organisations, charities, campaign groups and businesses come together to celebrate and share with the general public.
Green Fair 2024
Saturday 5 October at Hull Minster, in partnership with ReWilding Youth
This Green Fair was a year of firsts; it was the first time it was held at Hull Minster, and the first time we partnered with ReWilding Youth - who held their inaugural Youth Conference inside a big tent outside the Minster. There were excellent talks, workshops, knowledge and high levels of enthusiasm inside and out. Despite Hull Fair and concerns about the protests in the city centre, this year saw our highest attendance yet at 900+ on the counter!
We would like to offer the following thanks to the people who helped make it happen:
To ReWilding Youth for providing resources and delivering a fantastic conference
To Hull Minster, for hosting and supporting us in such an incredible venue
To our stallholders for representing brilliant community groups and ethical local businesses.
To the wonderful HEY volunteers and marvellous Minster volunteers for making everyone welcome and counting up the numbers.
To our own wonderful volunteers. HERFoE has no paid staff and we’re so proud of what we have managed to achieve on top of our day jobs and caring commitments. This also includes those in our expanded Creative Climate Network, such as Karar Hassan for creating art for the raffle and Mike Hood for taking photos of the event!
Previous Green Fairs
We've done so many Green Fairs since 1976 that it would be impossible to list every single one, let alone share the hundreds of photos! Check out our Facebook page and back catalogue of ECO for a rich look at our Green Fair history.
