Our purpose for being is to take local action on the nature and climate crises.
We organise a range of creative, active and educational activities that support and feed into our campaigns, engage the public and build our activist community.
On this page you can flick through our handy calendar and explore the types of activity you can expect from a proactive grassroots community like Hull and East Riding Friends of the Earth.
Any updates about big actions or events will be shared on this page.
COP30 Day of Action -
We can’t get to Brazil for COP, so we’ve chosen the next best thing!
On Saturday 15th November join Hull and East Riding Friends of the Earth at Abbey Street Park for a litter pick at 12.00. We will then parade along Brazil street, Holderness Road and on to Rooted in Hull, picking up litter as we go!
Dress colourfully or inspired by your favourite animals. We have litter picks and banners but do bring your own if you have them.
Taking place on the second Wednesday of each month (alternating between Hull and Cottingham) we meet to discuss, plan and strategise local action.
New, prospective and existing members are encouraged to come along and make change happen with us.
Taking place every Autumn, our Green Fair is always a fabulous opportunity to meet and learn about various local environmental charities, community groups, as well as purchase from environmental, and ethical stalls. We often have a range of talks and workshops too!
We collectively take action to educate, inspire and speak truth to power by organising actions that feed into our ongoing campaigns.
Actions might be a public group effort, small teams working on rewilding a space or individuals sending emails to MPs!
We regularly engage in opportunities to inform and inspire the general public - whether that's holding stalls at other community events, delivering talks in schools or hosting engaging workshops for the general public.
Developing friendships is important to any grassroots community. We organise opportunities to form deeper connections and solidarity with other HERFoE activists.
